The WHO names social connection a pillar of health

The Commission’s flagship report treats social health as a third pillar alongside physical and mental health. It calls for measurement, research and public engagement at a global scale, including the development of a Social Connection Index.

Why it matters here. Relational health is one of the Institute’s six fields of inquiry. That connection is now being counted in mortality is a reminder that relationships are not soft context; they are physiology.
