Governance & Ethics
The standards we hold ourselves to.
Research on human wellbeing carries obligations. These are the principles that govern the Institute’s research, its practice and its commercial work.
01Principles
- Honest evidence
- The Institute claims evidence only to the strength it holds. Practice-based observation is described as such and never presented as controlled trial data. Limitations are stated alongside findings.
- Informed consent
- Individuals whose experiences inform the Institute’s work, research or published materials do so with clear, informed and revocable consent. Testimonials and case material are used only with permission.
- Confidentiality & data protection
- Personal and clinical information is held securely, minimised to what is necessary, and never sold. Identifying details are removed from any research or teaching use unless explicit consent is given.
- Participant welfare first
- The wellbeing of the people the Institute works with takes precedence over research or commercial interest at every point of conflict.
- Fidelity & competence
- Only certified practitioners deliver the MABERT model, held to defined standards of competence, supervision and ethics through the certification pathway.
- Responsible commercialisation
- Commercial activity funds the research and widens access. It is conducted transparently, and never at the cost of the integrity of the model or the welfare of participants.
02Oversight
Formalising independent oversight.
As the Institute’s research programme develops, it is establishing formal ethical oversight, including an independent ethics review process and advisory input for studies involving participants. Collaborative studies are conducted under the ethical approvals of their partner institutions.
This page states our standing commitments in plain terms. It will be expanded into full governance, ethics, data-protection and safeguarding policies as the Institute’s formal structures are put in place. Questions about our governance are welcome and can be raised directly with us.
